HMAS Larrakia
Radio Larrakia CEO Donna Odegaard, is the Commissioning and Naming Lady for Armidale Class Patrol Boat, HMAS Larrakia.  This honor was awarded for her contribution and work for Aboriginal communities in Australia and overseas. As a Larrakia representative and advocate for Aboriginal rights across Australia in Indigenous heritage, land rights, native title, media and the arts and Indigenous education, Donna has carved a career through social justice and community capacity development, policy and Indigenous business development, particularly for "grass roots" Aboriginal people.

Donna has a close relationship with the Navy and the HMAS Larrakia. She planned a major event in 2008 to celebrate in an Indigenous cultural festival. In preparation for the event, Donna put together a rare collection of HMAS Larrakia memorabilia to be held in trust in honor of her Larrakia community for permanent display.

Memorable moments for the Commissioning Lady, apart from the Naming Ceremony in Henderson Western Australia 2005 was the Commissioning Ceremony in 2006 when for the first time, members of the diverse Larrakia community gathered in harmony to celebrate the joyous event.

Paul Henderson, now Chief Minister for the Northern Territory tabled the Commissioning Speech in the Northern Territory Parliament Hansard Report, remarking on the unity of the Larrakia at the event, demonstrating the "spirit of Reconciliation". This gave true meaning to the motto on the ship "United as One".

Donna took the ship's helm in a trip around Darwin Harbour, having been treated to afternoon tea and scones and, a fun run in the Rhib to round up the day.

The Patrol Boat Group maintains regular contact with the Commissioning Lady keeping abreast of news and information including events and promotions.
